What if…?

PLANT LIKE JESUS is an effort to source the practices and principles of new church development with the Lord of the church, Jesus. Paul implies this in I Corinthians 3:10-11 where he talks about his church planting work in Corinth:

“But each one should be careful how they build. For no one can lay a foundation other than the one that is already laid which is Jesus Christ.”

Paul interchanges metaphors to describe his early work calling it the “plant” and “foundation” phase of the ministry urging that Jesus be central to that effort. Jesus was not just a message to proclaim, he also provides the method for pioneer start-up work.

Planting leaders today are often overtaken by a blizzard of “best practices” many of which are very good. What is not so good is when we lose sight of Jesus, the Lord of the church and the master of church planting. He has much to say about how we do apostolic work. PLANT LIKE JESUS is an effort to recover those principles and practices.

So…what if Jesus were to direct your planting plan? What if planting drew you closer as a follower of Jesus?
